insanemaleflutist replied to your post: omg oyu like Robert jordan,
This made my day, I just started reading Sanderson’s Alloy of law though he is great, he’ll never be Robert Jordan. The last book is supposedly coming out this year?
Glad I could make your day! Brandon finished the first draft of A Memory of Light, so I think it’s a safe bet that it’ll come out this year. Harriet (Robert Jordan’s editor and widow) wants more time for revisions this time around, but I’m holding out for Mid-November. It seems reasonable and it would fit the pattern of the last few releases.
As for Brandon himself, he’s not RJ and he’s never pretended to be, but he’s doing a fine job finishing the series, is a credit to the Sci-Fi/Fantasy community and I cannot wait to read AMOL.
I adore Brandon original books (except for the first three Mistborns, which everyone except myself and No Twitter Nat loves and I am ambivalent towards). Elantris is firmly ensconced in my top ten books of all time. It’s not his best book (that’s probably Way of Kings), but there is something in the characters in that book that speaks to me very strongly.
I’ll stop blabbing about epic fantasy now. You all are probably here to see me post pictures of Batman shaking hands with David Tennant or something like that.
