Thank You! I had so much fun being Cap. I get to bring it out again in a couple weeks and I cannot wait. I don’t need people to love the Cap movie like I did, just to see it because it ties EVERYTHING ELSE together, except maybe Thor, actually.Yeah, I agree everyone should at least see it. I don’t understand how people can just skip any of the big 3, meaning Iron Man, Cap., or Thor… I will admit I haven’t seen Hulk.
I’m kind of ashamed at all the levels of nerd I’m not. Like I feel I need to immerse myself in comics and such this summer because I’m not well-versed in them at all.
Reblogging because I think this will get long.
I’m biased because I worked for the House of Ideas back when Hulk was half of the Marvel Movie universe, but The Incredible Hulk is really good. What the movie lacks, IMO, is that blend of drama, action, and, most importantly, humor that the other films do so well. The formula came from Iron Man, which filmed concurrently with The Incredible Hulk, so TIH didn’t benefit from knowing what worked and what didn’t. Hulk is also a more inherently tragic character, so while it’s possible to do humor with Hulk it’s not as apparent as it is with a character like Iron Man.
Anyway, I’m not nerdy about a whole lot of things. It never bugs me because I’m sure I’ll get to them when the time is right. If you genuinely are intrigued by comics I can let loose a raging stream of recommendations, because I picked up comics fairly recently… although I guess at this point it’s 6 years ago… wow.
