A little kids’ commercial probably shouldn’t piss me off, but phrases like “perpetuating gender stereotypes/roles” comes to mind, and y’all know I’m the most mellow person when it comes to superheroes.
Why can’t a little girl be Iron Man? Why can’t a little girl be shown as Black Widow?
Clearly, no one wants to portray archers in a positive light. (That’s a joke, you guys. I’m joking.)
From a business point, I totally get only seeing those big four. They are easily the most marketable and recognizable identities, so I honestly don’t fault the folks that storyboarded this thing out for not including Hawkeye or Black Widow.
Just… it wouldn’t hurt seeing a little girl as Cap. It wouldn’t hurt seeing a little girl as Thor.
