The film stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff and centers on small-time magician Oscar Diggs (Franco) who pulls one flimflam too many and he finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz where he must somehow transform himself into the great and powerful Wizard—and just maybe into a better man as well.

I wanted to pick one panel from DOROTHY AND THE WIZARD IN OZ #1 to post, but I just couldn’t. So I picked five. Five great reasons to pick up the issue by Eric Shanower and Skottie Young, which goes on sale September 28, 2011.

And you should also read our latest Psych Ward article about the Wizard of Oz, written by Tim Stevens, “a Psy D candidate and practicum trainee at a community mental health facility and has experience in working with individuals dealing with PTSD.”

Also, I now want a book about cats written and drawn by Skottie. Like, a 250 page adventure story.

OOOOOOOOZZZZZZ!!!! OZ! It’s my favorite thing. Now and forever. I own every issue, most of them in three formats (floppy, hardcover and softcover)

Rotating Oz covers on my iPhone background.

@SkottieYoung, if I have nightmares about the Gnome King it is so your fault.

This is what I see when I go to switch apps. I will not be surprised in the least if I have nightmares.
